British/Nigerian singer/song-writer Aret Komlosy is the daughter of chart topping soul singer Patti Boulaye and her love of music was nurtured by a blend of Nigerian and Hungarian heritage. With all those influences, you won’t be surprised to know that Aret’s voice is warm, yet full of passion and her love of the classic jazz repertoire and the legends who sang it is evident in her choices of material. Playing guitar with this all-star band will be Hugh Turner accompanied by bassist Paul Jefferies and drummer / percussionist Keith Fairbairn.

Multi-award winning Alex Clarke is still only in her twenties, but she’s stealing the limelight across the UK Jazz scene as a hard hitting saxophonist with an incredible ‘ear’ and bags of musical maturity. We’ve paired her with a club favourite and dare we say it - local boy - Eddie Gripper who is making great jazzy impressions on both sides of the channel - both throughout the UK and in his soon to be new home, Paris. The marvellously subtle drummer Euan Palmer and bassist Paul Jefferies will create a musical unit is guaranteed to provide an empathetic rhythm section for Alex Clarke to create what we’re certain will be an explosive show of swing and modern jazz. You can’t beat choir-led Christmas Carols in Church, but you can create something truly different and evocative with Carols arranged for jazz quintet (5 piece) and that’s exactly what pianist/guitarist/composer Pete Billington has done. Featuring great classics such as Silent Night, Little Drummer Boy, The First Noel, In The Bleak Midwinter and more. Not only are the arrangements harmonically gorgeous, but we also have a truly all-star band booked to interpret Pete’s arrangements: Pete of course will lead on piano and guitar, plus we have the internationally acclaimed trumpeter/flugel horn player Bryan Corbett, the gorgeous sounding Fliss Gorst on tenor sax, drummer Jason Reeve and Paul Jefferies on both double bass and electric bass guitar. You’ll go home feeling Christmas is in the air..

Virtuoso Violinist, singer, pianist and composer - Ben Holder creates shows which brim full of energy and entertainment. His much loved Beatles Reimagined show has been updated with more gorgeous ‘Fab Four’ numbers and he’ll be setting our jazz offering at Burford up for a brilliant year of jazz at Warwick Hall. With regular band members Jez Cook (guitar), Paul Jefferies (bass) and drummer Nick Millward on the job you can be assured of a grand night’s entertainment.
