Roger Beaujolais & Neil Burns Quartet

For aficionados, vibraphonist Roger needs no introduction, he is quite simply the UK’s most celebrated trailblazing player of ‘Vibes’. Neil Burns is a remarkable jazz guitarist with an authentic tone, brilliant phrasing and a love of early bop music he’s the perfect partner to create with Roger a show that harks back to the music of Wes Montgomery and his equally celebrated multi instrumental brothers (Wes - guitar, Eddie - piano/vibes and Monk - bass) . Drummer Rob Brian is on drum kit duty and Paul Jefferies adds the essential bass lines that will make this show a highlight of the jazz Club at Woodstock’s diary.
Andy Hooley’s Christmas Jazz Cracker
Friday 18th December
£22.00 (in advance only no tickets on door)
7.30pm start (doors open 7.00pm)
Andy Hooley is a top level woodwind specialist who specialises in playing clarinet and tenor sax (both as a classical and jazz musician). He’s known particularly for his full bodied clarinet tone and a mastery of harmonic understanding - what’s just as important is his delivery which is full of good humour and fun. Andy has created a show that will accent on jazz festive favourites without being chintzy or overly sentimental. We’re delighted to welcome for the first time educator and Bahamian based pianist Dan Holder with Paul Jefferies on bass and one of our club favourites, Charlie Stratford on drums. We’ll also be featuring a very special guest vocalist who will join the quartet for a selection of numbers.
